I will share video clips, images and descriptions of lessons that I do in my STREAM Studio which used to be a Computer Lab Classroom. I will have a Google Slide show to share with participants to share my journey that started with a year long research project on learning environments with my district. I defined my vision, made a list of wish list items, wrote a grant which was not funded, but my principal loved my project and had the PTO fund it for over $8000 worth of Lakeshore Learning white board tables, two new rugs, 12 wobble stools, 4 low to the floor chairs and table, a standing table, Lego wall, Otto Stools and metal stools. I would share the images and my blog posts that would describe the beginning process of transforming my old class to the new vision then share how I articulated the meaning of the acronym of STREAM in a puzzle like graphic:
S = Science, Social Studies, Self Directed Learners
T = Technology, Thinkers, Tinkering
R - Robotics, Reading/Research, Reflection
E = Engineering, Effective Communication, Engagement
A - Art, Adaptability, Active Learning
M = Math, Maker Empowerment, Motivation

I will share STREAM Lessons on my blog that were focused on a 3rd Grade Snowflake STREAM unit and on Landmarks after 1st graders read "Iggy Peck, Architect". This lesson allowed my Special Area team to collaborate and even produce a podcast for our school district about the Engineering unit.  In addition, participants will see how my 2nd graders built their own Macy's Day Ballon on Spheros for our own Parade!

I will share ideas of how to create Bloxels Video Games about N.C. State Symbols. I share how my 5th graders create Mars Rovers using K'Nex blocks.

I will also share some lessons based on various picture books by Andrea Beatty like "Rosie Revere, Engineer", "Iggy Peck, Architect" and "After the Fall" by Dan Santat.

My goal will be to inspire educators to use materials to inspire students as they are exposed to STREAM Lessons. I would also hope that they could be inspired to transform their learning space from a basic computer lab to a new vision to better teach and have an optimal learning environment.
