I am a fifth grade teacher in Catawba County Schools who is passionate about creating learning experiences that engage students by integrating hands-on learning with technology. I strive to build strong relationships, promote equity, and inspire creativity. I enjoy promoting agriculture in the classroom with the use of our school garden and outdoor classroom to inspire learning through connections with real-life science. In the garden, students have learned through each of the curricular areas, practiced social-emotional learning, and created a life-long love of the environment. I love to use technology in the garden to support learning and community outreach. I enjoy fostering life-long learners and encouraging students to become environmental enthusiasts.
